Child Sexual Abuse

Offering Help and Support to Victims of Child Sex Abuse

Estimates on the prevalence of child sex assaults and abuse in this country are staggering. In fact, the National Resource Council has estimated that the percent of the U.S. population that has been sexually abused ranges from a low of about 20 to 24 percent to a high of anywhere from 54 to 62 percent.

At the Law Office of Robert D. Kizer, we help children, vulnerable adults and people who were sexually abused as children obtain justice and compensation in both civil and criminal courts. We also put victims of childhood sexual assaults or abuse in touch with resources that can help them to move past it and end the cycle of abuse.

You couldn't then. Now you can. Take action to stop the cycle of child sex abuse and call or contact our offices in Austin, Texas, to schedule a free, confidential consultation with attorney Robert D. Kizer.

Seeking Justice and Compensation

Thanks to a greater awareness of the problem at all levels of society, tougher child sex assault and pornography laws, and an added emphasis on aggressive prosecution, more and more sexual predators are being put behind bars for longer and longer periods of time.

Unfortunately, the primary benefits of that trend go to society as a whole — benefits only made possible by victims who are willing to relive painful life experiences on the witness stand. Later, however, little if anything is done to ensure that victims have access to the resources or support needed to deal with the devastating personal effects of a childhood sexual assault.

We believe that abuse victims deserve justice and compensation. We file criminal complaints and work with prosecutors in appropriate circumstances. In some cases, we have even gone after the monsters who created the monsters that abused our clients. At the same time, we recognize that justice doesn't always have to mean a jail sentence. In fact, we have worked with clients who have had internal conflicts about putting someone they still feel a connection to in jail.

This is understandable and not at all uncommon. Our firm has had success in helping these victims obtain the compensation they deserve without the need for a public trial or jail sentence.
